A Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged former President John Dramani Mahama to consider moving in to live with the founder of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Madam Akua Donkor if it’s true he has nowhere to stay after leaving office.
Akua Donkor in the run up to the 2016 elections told Adom FM’s Kofi Adomah in an interview that the then President gave her a three bedroom house and two Mitsubishi Pajeros. The house, she said is located at Spintex in Accra.
The issue of the former President given the female politician house and cars became a major talking point during the 2016 electioneering campaign.
And this same issue has started rearing its ugly head once more following former President Mahama’s request that he should be allocated the Cantoments home where he lived as Vice President and President.
This request has generated a lot of debate in the public domain with many arguing that the President must ‘do the right thing’ and leave the house for Vice President Mahamudu Bawmia.
Contributing to this debate, Abronye called on the former President to consider seeking refuge in the 3 bedroom house he gave to Madam Akua Donkor when he was President.
This, Abronye DC said is one of the panaceas to the former President’s accommodation problems.
“Going to perch Akua Donkor is in order because former President Mahama was very kind to her during his time as President and hence should just request that he grants him just two rooms, at least a chamber and hall or two rooms to accommodate him and his family won’t be bad…,” he mocked the former President on Oman FM Tuesday.
Abronye further said that he and the youth of this country would never subscribe to any decision to allow former President Mahama to continuously stay in the government bungalow.
“I am assuring everybody listening to me that the former President won’t be offered the house today or tomorrow, no one would allow him and we would ensure that…,” he said.
