Chief of Kintampo Kyeremankoma, Nana Effa Guakro has blamed the Invincible Forces of the New Patriotic Party for the tragic death of some nineteen revelers at the Kintampo waterfalls on Sunday, March 19, 2017.

According to Nana Guakro, the Kintampo Invincible Forces forcibly took over the tourism facility from qualified tour guards who could have saved lives.

“Because of their actions, it made it impossible for the elders of the town to perform the necessary annual rituals,” he said.

The vigilante group, he noted immediately after the 2016 December elections chased away those in charge of the facility after then flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo was pronounced winner.

Nana Guakro noted that, patronage has gone down due to the NPP Forces’ lack of competence in managing the place since they took over.

“Management of the facility is not like any other tourist site in the area. Those in charge should be able to read early warning signals and close the facility as and when there is imminent danger,” he revealed.

Out of the 18 persons who died in the accident, 15 of them were students of Wenchi Senior High School, as confirmed by Chief Superintendent Desmond Owusu Boampong, Divisional Police Commander of Kintampo.
